About us
The Greener Events Foundation was established by the international snowboarding ace Terje Haakonsen and the Norwegian philanthropist Jan Chr. G. Sundt in 2009.

Anita Bui, founder of Norway's first Zero Waste store, is the executive director and advisor. In addition, several enthusiastic and resourceful people cooperate with the Foundation on a regular basis.

    Founder & Board Member
    Chairman Jan Christian Sundt is one of the founders of Greener Events. He is a successful business man as well as enthusiastic philanthropist who believes that 'there are three things we cannot compromise on: Environment, food and education. We promote these values and demonstrate that having fun needn't diminish environmental responsibility.
  • Linnéa Svensson
    Board Member
    Board member Linnéa Svensson has 15+ years of experience with production, sponsorship and sustainability for events and festivals, including 10 years for the Øya Festival. She mentors organizers of sporting and culture events in implementing sustainability measures and sustainable corporate partnerships. Linnéa is certified as Miljøfyrtårn consultant, and she is also the author of the Sponsorship Handbook for Live Music Organizers (in Norwegian).
  • Petter Arnestad
    Board Member
    Board member Petter Arnestad is founder and owner of Green Retail AS, an envirnomental consultancy firm est. in 2008. He is also a co-founder of Storekeeper AS, a company specialised in data analytics, also in the field of environmental data. Petter has 20 years of experience from working as an advisor on both strategic and operational level with a wide range of environmental issues for the property and retail sector in Norway and Scandinavia. Petter was a co-author of the Environmental Handbook for festivals. He has also served as board member for the Ethical Trading Initiative of Norway.
  • Dagfrid Forberg
    Board Member
    Board member Dagfrid Forberg is passionate about sports and the environment. She is the deputy leader at the environmental foundation ZERO and the previous secretary-general at the Snowboard Association.
  • Terje Haakonsen
    Founder
    Terje Haakonsen is the co-founder of Greener Events. He is first and foremost known as a highly skilles professional snowboarder and he has won several medals for Norway internationally. Haakonsen started The Arctic Challenge (TAC) along with fellow snowboarder Daniel Franck in the 1999 as an alternative to FIS more formal and commercialized snowboarding competitions. The competition has becime one of the most popular snowboarding competitions in the world, as well as one of Greener Events success stories.

    Executive Director
    Executive Director Anita Bui is founder of Råvarene, Norway's first Zero Waste store in 2016. Anita has a master in Energy, Natural resources and the Environment from the Norwegian School of Economics, and coupled with previous roles as a board member in the Green Party (MDG Bergen) and in Økologisk Norge (Bergen), she is motivated to contribute to greener events with competence in Zero Waste, sustainable business models, Design thinking and circular economy.
