The Client
The local organizers behind the 2012 Snowboard World Championship were The Norwegain Snowboard Association, The Arctic Challenge, and Tryvann Ski Center. The event took place in Oslo Winter Park and Wyller, on the outskirts of Oslo, where the city meets the forest and uncultivated land. Norwegian snowboard legend Terje Haakonsen brought the sustainability focus into TAC, and the owner of Tryvann Ski Center has been an organic farmer since the 1970's. This mixed with the location of the event made it necessary to take certain measurements.
What We Did
Greener Events was hired to manage the Eco Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) certification of the event, and we also managed the sustainability work during the event.
