In close collaboration with Norway's Sports Association, and with funding from the foundation Sparebankstiftelsen DNB, we were able to make a
Green Sports handbook, an environmental course program, and NOK 190,000 was granted to 19 sport clubs for best green initiative or best practice.
The handbook has been distributed through the Sports Association. It is a practical and useful tool for anyone who organizes sports events, who owns and operates sports facilities, or run the activities program. Based on experiences made at home and abroad all the way back to the Lillehammer Olympics in 1994, the book explains how environmental adaptation is both possible and profitable.
The project kickstarted the sporting associations own green strategy and help with tools and hands on input to get the work started.
